Green beauty & the world of perfume

As perfume creators, we wanted to find a way of producing a perfume that had minimal impact on our planet. And one that smells divine. Jones & Modha no.1 is just that.

Have you ever thought about what goes into to your favourite perfume or fragrance? There is no legal obligation to publish a detailed list. Some ingredients are derived from petrochemicals - but it’s definitely not disclosed openly. We wanted to find a natural perfume with a transparent list of exactly what went into it. We wanted a beautiful, sophisticated perfume with all the benefits of essential oils, consciously sourced from sustainable origins. We wanted to be transparent and behave with integrity.

Expertly blended fragrance

We didn’t want just a list of essential oils thrown together clumsily. Which is why we work with a master perfumer in Somerset who shares our ethics and commitment to sustainability. With many years of experience and having been at the forefront of sourcing natural ingredients for perfumes, we knew that they were the right person to expertly blend the essential oils into something very beautiful. This is taking perfume making back to its root, back to natural plant alchemy.

Working Towards carbon neutrality

Jones and Modha no1 is a natural perfume, made in small batches, conscious of its impact on the environment and our planet. Every decision that we make when it comes to creating and selling our natural Eau de Parfum are eco conscious decisions around packaging and really thinking about how we do things. And so Jones & Modha no1 was born, a natural perfume for people who love the planet. So many of you have already joined us on this journey and we are so delighted that we all can do our bit to care for our planet, whilst enjoying being here and delighting in the simple pleasures of life.

Our perfumer is working hard towards establishing a carbon neutral perfumery. Rain water is harnessed to make plant and flower waters and they are growing many flowers themselves.

We’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on your perfume habits and whether you agree that perfume should be as natural as possible, with minimal impact on the environment. We still have a long way to go, but we feel we are moving in the right direction to contribute in a positive way to the foundations of clean beauty.
